Pair Browser is optional
The 1Matic iPhone and Android app works on its own. Photograph an item, get a draft, edit it, and copy the listing details. You do not need any other software to use 1Matic.
Pair Browser is extra help on your computer. It can fill a marketplace page you already opened and signed into. You stay in that tab. You confirm before anything goes live.
- The phone app works without it
- Your marketplace login stays in your browser
- 1Matic does not receive your marketplace passwords
- Nothing posts until you confirm it
What Pair Browser does
Some marketplaces have no official mobile listing API. For those sites, 1Matic keeps the draft on your phone and, if you opt in, can type that draft into a page in your own desktop browser.
Draft on the phone
Take photos in 1Matic. Review the title, description, price, and photos. Copy the listing if you want to paste it yourself.
Open your own tab
On your computer, open Craigslist, Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor, Swappa, Karrot, or eBay and sign in as you normally do.
Pair once
In 1Matic, open Pair Browser and generate a 1M code. Type that code into TabWorker Relay on the computer.
You confirm
1Matic can fill fields in the tab you selected. You review the page and submit, edit, or cancel there. 1Matic does not take over your account.
What it is not
Not required
If you never pair a browser, you can still draft listings, copy them, manage your account, and optionally connect eBay.
Not a second App Store app
Relay is a Chrome or Edge extension that runs on your computer. It is not installed on the iPhone and does not change the 1Matic iOS app.
Not a password collector
Marketplace cookies and passwords stay in your browser. 1Matic never asks you to type those into the phone app.
Not auto-publish from iPhone
The phone does not post to Craigslist, Facebook, Kijiji, Nextdoor, Swappa, or Karrot. Those sites stay under your confirmation in the browser.
TabWorker Relay
Pair Browser uses TabWorker Relay, a free open-source Chrome or Edge extension. 1Matic is the listing product. Relay is the optional computer helper that types into a tab you already control.
For 1Matic users
Install Relay on the same computer where you already use Craigslist or other sites. Then pair it with the 1M code from the 1Matic app.
Relay source on GitHubFor reviewers
Skip GitHub. Skip Chrome developer mode. The mobile app is the product under review. This page exists so the in-app “Pair Browser” button has an honest destination.
Mobile app infoGitHub is the current distribution for Relay. It is a developer-facing repository. Everyday install steps belong on your computer, not inside the iPhone app.
How to pair, if you want the helper
Only people who want drafts filled on their computer need these steps.
- On a computer, install TabWorker Relay for Chrome or Edge from the TabWorker GitHub repository.
- Open 1Matic on your phone. Go to Pair Browser and generate a pairing code. It starts with 1M.
- Type that 1M code into Relay. The phone never carries a web-socket URL; pairing is just the code.
- Open the marketplace in your browser and sign in as you always do.
- In 1Matic, send the draft. Watch the tab. Confirm, edit, or cancel on the marketplace yourself.
Computer-only: load unpacked if Chrome Web Store is not available
Relay currently ships from GitHub. Loading an unpacked Chrome extension is a computer setting. Do not do this on an iPhone. App Store reviewers should ignore this section.
On the computer: download the Relay package from GitHub, unzip it, then use Chrome or Edge’s extensions page to load the unpacked folder. Keep developer-mode instructions on the computer. 1Matic will not walk you through changing iPhone system settings.
Questions
Do I have to install Relay to use 1Matic?
No. Draft, edit, copy, billing, support, and account deletion all work on the phone. eBay listing through eBay’s own login is optional and separate.
Does 1Matic post from my iPhone to Craigslist?
No. Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, Nextdoor, Swappa, and Karrot stay in your browser. Pair Browser can fill a draft there. You submit.
Why does the app mention TabWorker?
TabWorker Relay is the name of the open-source extension. 1Matic’s product name for the feature is Pair Browser. The App Store listing is 1Matic, not TabWorker.
What about my photos and account?
Photos and drafts are handled under the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account in the app under Settings. See Account Deletion.
